The PAFP is accepting nominations for the 2021 Exemplary Teaching Awards! These awards celebrate PAFP members who deserve recognition for excellence in teaching and those who have implemented outstanding educational programs and/or developed innovative teaching models. The Pa winners will be the PAFP nominees for the AAFP Exemplary Teaching Awards.
Medical Students, residents, residency program directors, and chairs of departments of family medicine are encouraged to submit nominations. All teaching award nominations are reviewed by the The PAFP Committee on Governance & Leadership. The PAFP awards will be presented at the 2021 PAFP Annual Meeting and Awards Recognition on Saturday, April 2, 2022, during our Annual Business Meeting program in Lancaster, Pa. The Awardee will have an opportunity to give brief remarks from the virtual podium in accepting the award.
Following the initial nomination, PAFP will request the following supporting information from the nominee's institution:
- A current Curriculum Vitae;
- A minimum of three and a maximum of five supporting nominations. At least two of the supporting nominations must be submitted from individuals who are current or former students/residents who have been taught by the nominee, and may be submitted via the online nomination form.
One award will be presented in each of two categories:
- Full-time and Part-time faculty
- Volunteer faculty
Selection Criteria:
Recognized for exemplary teaching skills by medical students, residents, or peers -or-
Developed and implemented innovative new teaching model(s) or program(s) -and-
Must be a current member of AAFP/PAFP.
