LAST DAY FOR HEALTHCARE.GOV ENROLLMENT (Dec. 15, 2015)
Patients who want to enroll on the federal insurance exchange at www.HealthCare.gov have to act soon. Today (Tuesday, Dec. 15) is the final day to enroll for coverage beginning on Jan. 1, 2015. The website offers plenty of helpful advice for those signing up for the first time as well as returning patients. |

500,000-PLUS ENROLLEES IN PA. MEDICAID EXPANSION (Dec. 10, 2015)
More than 500,000 Pennsylvanians have enrolled in Medicare since Gov. Tom Wolf announced the state would embrace a full program expansion, dubbed Health Choices, in early 2015. The Wolf administration reports the commonwealth's uninsured rate dropped from 14 percent in 2013 to just 8 percent today. |

Pennsylvania's heroin epidemic is getting worse, and tens of thousands of addicts seeking treatment are unable to get it, reports Lancaster Online. A new study by the Center for Rural Pennsylvania has found that, because of inconsistencies in tracking data, the true extent of the state's heroin crisis is unclear. |

MEDICAL MARIJUANA PROPOSALS ADD LIMITATIONS (Dec. 3, 2015)
Proposed changes to the medical marijuana bill that overwhelmingly passed the Pa. Senate earlier this year have some supporters disappointed. PennLive reports Rep. Ron Marsico's proposals would limit THC content and the number of dispensaries in the state. A legalization vote could happen within the next two weeks. |
