Quality Improvement
Quality Improvement in CRC Care Linked to Lower Costs
|
As America shifts to value-based health care, new research is being conducted on how a focus of quality improvement in health care will be followed by cost reduction. A recent study by Johannes Govaert, MD of Leiden University Medical Center focused on investigating whether improving quality of surgical colorectal cancer (CRC) care, by using quality improvement initiatives, would lead to a reduction of hospital costs. The study yielded surprisingly positive results and further solidified the international trend of the transition from quantity to quality health care.
