LEARN MORE ABOUT THE FAIR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER CONTRACTING ACT
The Fair Health Care Provider Contracting Act legislates fair contracting standards and disclosures that will help physicians continue to make informed contractual decisions and provide higher quality, more cost-effective care to their patients. One section of the legislation eliminates the use of “all products” clauses. In the past, payers have included “all products” clauses in their contracts with physicians, forcing physicians to accept all products that the insurer offers. Giving physicians a choice relieves them from accepting inferior insurance products that may have multiple administrative hurdles associated with obtaining medically necessary care for their patients. WATCH OUR NEW ADVOCACY VIDEOS ON THE PAFP WEBSITE
New advocacy videos starring our own PAFP board members are now available to view on the PAFP’s Government Affairs page. The videos feature real physicians discussing various aspects of the Fair Health Care Provider Contracting Act (House Bill 1763), legislation introduced by Rep. Nick Miccarelli (R-Delaware) earlier this year. In the videos, PAFP members share their experiences with insurance companies and the positive effects of this legislation, which will give physicians in Pennsylvania a more level contracting model.
