Nearly one in four of all U.S. office visits are made to Family Physicians. That’s 224 million office visits each year – nearly 63 million more than the next medical specialty!

Family Physicians are the only specialist trained to ensure continuous, quality healthcare for all ages and for the entire family. There is no part of the body, condition or disease that is excluded from the family physician’s care. So keeping healthy patients means a healthier community. 

The Academy and its Foundation will support its members through advocacy and education to ensure a physician-led, patient-centered medical home for every Pennsylvanian by serving over 4,800 Pennsylvania physicians, residents, and medical student members, making it the third largest state chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)
