THE LATEST >> (1/18): Open Vaccination Clinics The PA DOH will provide free H1N1 vaccination at each of the 60 state health centers 9am-noon on the following Saturdays: Jan. 16, Jan. 23, Jan. 30, and Feb. 6. Appointments are not needed. State health centers may also hold immunization clinics during the week. For more information or to find a clinic, call 1-877-PA HEALTH (1-877-724-3258).
Nearly 50,000 people were vaccinated Jan. 8 & 9 at state Department of Health H1N1 flu vaccination clinics.
(1/8): H1N1 Immunization Outreach If you have H1N1 vaccine to give, the CDC and National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities encourage you to continue outreach to individuals who are traditionally harder to reach with health messages, including those who do not have access to the internet or have trouble reading. Download fliers from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at http://ncmhd.nih.gov/h1n1.html.
(12/23): Non-Safety Related Voluntary Recall As a result of routine vaccine stability testing, sanofi pasteur notified the CDC and the FDA that the potency in four lots of pediatric syringes that had been distributed was found to have dropped below the pre-specified limit. Since there were no safety concerns with these lots of H1N1 vaccine, and all lots successfully passed pre-release testing for purity, potency, and safety, the recall was voluntary. The vaccine in these lots is still expected to be effective in stimulating a protective response, despite this slight reduction in the concentration of antigen. There is no need to re-administer a dose to those who received vaccine from these lots.
(12/11): If your practice is a registered health care provider and has not yet received vaccine or has not received enough vaccine for priority patients, email influenzaquestions@state.pa.us with the name of your facility/practice, the priority group you serve, contact person and phone number, and number and type of doses you need. Practices that have vaccinated all priority patients but still have doses may begin vaccinating non-priority patients.
