The Pennsylvania House Professional Licensure Committee has approved amendments to House Bill 100 that would create a six-year pilot program expanding the scope of practice for primary care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNPs) in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) across the Commonwealth. Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP) President Tracey Conti, MD today thanked sponsor Rep. Schemel, Majority Leader Benninghoff, Minority Leader Dermody, and the full House for unanimously passing House Resolution 625. “The passage of H.R. 625 will be critical in expanding Pennsylvania’s primary care physician workforce,” said Conti.

PAFP student leaders launch medical student survey Sept. 4, 2020
Medical student leaders collaborated with residents and residency directors to develop a survey to collect student perspectives on virtual resources for the virtual recruitment season. Results will help inform residency programs about the information students seek this year and innovative ways to communicate that information. Medical students may complete the survey here.
